Professional Background

Kären is a landscape architect with over 19 years experience and since joining EPCAD 12 years ago, has become a director within the practice.

Kären qualified in England and, through her work both within Australia and overseas, has gained a wide range of experience from large-scale masterplanning through to detailed design related to residential subdivisions, public parks, commercial precincts, leisure and hotel developments, business and science parks.

For 6 years Kären worked with a leading Landscape Architectural practice in London and was a key design team member for many prestigious projects throughout the UK and Europe. Working alongside international architects such as Skidmore Owings and Merrill, RTKL and Wimberly Allison Tong and Goo, Kären was a key design team member for the award winning Sunlife Business Centre, the Lisbon Expo Development, the Ottoman’s Palace in Istanbul and Euro Disney Waterfront Development.

After travelling around Australia and working in Landscape Architectural offices in Adelaide, Darwin, Cairns, Brisbane and Melbourne, Kären came to Perth and joined EPCAD in 1997.

Her management skills, combined with her design abilities, ensure the successful delivery of projects within ambitious timeframes. Kären has an acknowledged understanding of water harvesting and drainage management and its integration into landscape elements in urban areas. She has delivered a number of parkland designs that create useable and valued spaces while integrating drainage and developing new habitats.

During her time with EPCAD, Kären has been responsible for a variety of notable developments including Capricorn Village at Yanchep, Heron Park, Seascapes, The Boardwalk, Burswood Masterplan and Belgravia Central.
