Seascapes
An establishing residential community south of Mandurah with over 3 kilometres of coastal frontage. The main commercial street leads out to a large central public open space on the foreshore, which is pivotal to the foreshore footpath running the full length of the coastal frontage. Parklands are distributed throughout the community, positioned specifically to retain significant stands of existing trees.
- Initial sketch design, full documentation through to contract administration - ongoing
- Documentation and implementation of the foreshore management plan
- Won the water award 2005 for using recycled water for park irrigation
- Celebration of local aboriginal heritage through art and landscape design
- Retention of existing trees, particularly the Jarrah and Tuarts in hilltop parks and the celebration of the Quandong Tree in the lower parklands.
- Drainage management through a series of weirs, swales and bio-filtration areas as an integral part of the design concept
- A variety of parklands comprising tree covered extensive play, a lake, open kickabout areas, art and sculpture trails, shade, barbecue and picnic facilities and extensive views.
